June 22, 1:00 AM, Furude Shrine Part 2 (6月22日午前1時 古手神社② Rokugatsu Ni-juu-ni-nichi Gozen Ichi-ji—Furude Jinja: Ni) is the sixth chapter of Yoigoshi-hen.
Summary[]
A shocked Yae cowers near the gate to the shrine in as Mion arrives and asks what’s wrong. Yae explains that she and Takumi parked near the gate and were going back when they saw their car disappeared. Someone then came up behind Takumi and attacked him, and Yae ran away. Mion doesn't sense anyone else around, but she prepares to go search by herself. Otobe decides to call the police again, but realizes that he dropped his phone earlier. He hands the Tamahajiki no Katana over to Arakawa and runs back to get it.
Mion returns from searching and finds no trace of any vehicles or people anywhere. Arakawa asks if she saw a motorcycle, as he came to the village on one. Mion smirks and says she didn't see one either. The group then goes off to retrieve Otobe and find him standing by himself. Arakawa realizes that Mion and Otobe have the same model of cellphone, so they can exchange batteries. However, Otobe is shocked, as even though he dropped his phone it got destroyed, and holds up the remains for everyone to see.
Gathered back in the meeting hall, Arakawa wonders who broke Otobe’s phone; he thinks someone is trying to cut off their communication and kill them. Seeing that Yae keeps shaking, Otobe goes to get her a blanket and opens a closet, only to find Takumi’s dead body inside. Yae screams in terror and goes up to him. The group thinks Takumi got attacked outside and was dragged inside by the killer, and Arakawa reveals he left his own cellphone inside the meeting hall, as it was no help. His phone is not broken, meaning the perpetrator who broke Otobe's phone already knew it was worthless; that person is inside the room right now. Mion sighs and says Arakawa must be reading too many mystery novels, and Arakawa then says Mion is the most suspicious person here, thinking about the victims list and her katana.
