You Will Surrender
Hello, I am Ryukishi07.
Welcome to "Episode 2: Turn of the Golden Witch." As the subtitle suggests, this episode of Umineko portrays Beatrice's turn in the game of chess between the human Battler and the Golden Witch.
I'm guessing that of the readers who swore to solve the serial murders in Episode 1, 99.9% of them will bend over and kiss the witch's shoe here. Ha-ha, yes, I do believe so—in fact, I'm sure of it. You? There's no doubt in my mind.
There's no such thing as witches? It must be the work of a human pretending to be a witch? How very courageous and plucky of you. None of you will remain. You will surrender.
Are you angry to be insulted so, here in this afterword? Then join Battler and challenge the new series of murders that will occur. I'm not expecting you to tell me who is responsible. There's no way you'll be able to figure that out. I'm just eager to see if you can at least figure out how a human could carry them out in the first place. But I know the result already. You can't even solve that!
...taunts Beatrice with a cruel glint in her eye. Please, dear readers, do your best to tackle the serial murders of Episode 2. No, I cannot demand that you tackle them. Please, just reach the end without giving in to the witch. It will be a difficult enough episode simply to accomplish that. Hee-hee-hee-hee!
