Three Oxen Beyond the Village (丑三つ越しの村 Ushimitsu-goshi no Mura) was the fortieth event in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Mei. It is an event that ran from April 1, 2022 until April 10th, 2022.
Plot Summary[]

Tamura sends Kazuho to a future Fragment as an experiment. Kazuho ends up in 2006 in a post-Great Hinamizawa Disaster world, where many of her friends still exist but in different forms: Satoshi and Satoko's parents divorced, Shion is forced to live locked inside of her house, Keiichi is forced to study to surpass his father, and Rika is terminally ill. The group plans to travel to Hinamizawa and commit suicide, but Kazuho tries to convince them otherwise.

- The event seems to be inspired by the manga and console-exclusive arc Yoigoshi. The event title uses the same kanji for "goshi" (越し) as Yoigoshi, and they have similar plots.
