Skylark 13 (雲雀 13 Hibari Juusan) is a member of the Mountain Dogs.
Profile[]
I'm cool as a mint, and that's why they call me Skylark 13.
(Translated from the Entergram Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hou website.)
Appearance[]
Skylark 13 did not have a sprite in the original visual novel. Console ports and adaptations show him with gray hair that covers one eye and wearing a gray uniform and hat.
Personality[]
Skylark 13 is very determined but he lacks mental fortitude.
Background[]
As a member of the Mountain Dogs' Skylark unit, Skylark 13 has been involved in kidnapping patients of Hinamizawa Syndrome. He has also received combat training.
Relationships[]
- Tetsurou Okonogi (commander)
Role in the Story[]
Matsuribayashi[]
The Mountain Dogs are deployed to capture the club at their mountain, however it's been rigged with many traps set by Satoko. Many of Skylark 13's comrades succumb to the traps, and he himself starts chasing after Satoko and ends up at a big field.
Satoko announces she will surrender if Skylark 13 can take 5 steps without setting off a trap. He gets nervous from his comrades warning him that there are traps everywhere he could walk, with Satoko mocking him and daring him to get on with it already. Skylark 13 decides to walk backwards but is soon knocked out by a trap.
Other Appearances[]
Nekodamashi[]
In Part 4, Skylark 13 is seen* confronting Bloodhounds among other Mountain Dogs during the former's siege of the Okonogi Gardeners building. He gives up after being told to by Tetsurou Okonogi.

Trivia[]
- Skylark 13, pronounced as "Hibari Juusan" in Japanese, has a similar appearance to Amakusa Juuza from Umineko When They Cry, whose given name Juuza (十三) is Japanese for 13. Both of them work for the version of Tetsurou Okonogi in their corresponding universe. While Amakusa is likely meant to be a Mountain Dogs reference, Skylark 13's visual resemblance to the former is a retroactive addition since he was not given a proper appearance until the Matsuribayashi manga, which was released after Amakusa's first appearance in Alliance of the Golden Witch.
