Ciconia no Naku Koro ni is the third story in the overarching When They Cry series, after Higurashi and Umineko. It delves into global society 100 years after World War 3, where the rise of the new Gauntlet military technology has changed the geopolitical landscape by allowing young people to become super soldiers. It is in this period where the Gauntlet Knight protagonists must struggle against hidden powers who are attempting to bring about World War 4.

Phase 1 of the story may be purchased on Steam and MangaGamer. A demo of the visual novel covering the first 14 of 25 chapters is also available. Phase 2 will be releasing in 2020, but no exact date has been given.
