Story

Yoigoshi-hen

Miyuki tags along with Ryuunosuke Arakawa on his trip to Hinamizawa in 2006 to do research, claiming that she's a writer. When they arrive to the village, they find a car full of people trying to commit rentan suicide and break the windows, but they're too late as the people inside are already dead. They then head to the Furude Shrine after seeing a light in the distance; Arakawa become suspicious of Miyuki due to her knowledge of the village's layout despite her supposed ignorance. They soon meet Mion Sonozaki, Akira Otobe, Yae Towada and Takumi Kurosawa.

In one route, the group gets attacked by Mifune's men, and Miyuki helps Mion fend them off by pulling out a gun.

After Mion explains the circumstances regarding her goal in the village, the group sets out for the Sonozaki estate and discover a motorcycle which was previously stolen by Mifune's men and hidden. Miyuki uses it to drive to Okinomiya and contact the police for help.

Miyuki returns with several police officers, including her father, but the situation with Mifune is already resolved by then. Miyuki's marriage status is then revealed to a disappointed Arakawa.

Connecting Fragments

The Fragment "Reversing the Gears" has Miyuki returning to the police department with her results from her Hinamizawa trip. There were strong theories that the Great Hinamizawa Disaster was man-made rather than a natural disaster, and Miyuki's inspection of the secret passage near the Sonozaki estate suggested that canisters of nerve gas were dumped there long ago.

Miyuki relays this information to her superior and mother-in-law, Senior Superintendent Sorimachi and aims to conduct a large scale investigation of the area. However, Miyuki never gets the chance to investigate as Sorimachi secretly arranges for the SDF to destroy the secret passage, believing that their time to catch the mastermind has long passed.
