Role in the Story[]
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Mei[]
Kurisu is introduced asking Okabe about his latest invention, the "PhoneWaveRevision (Name subject to change) VR". She's taken aback by the fact Okabe was inspired to make it by an isekai novel but takes part in the experiment after Luka appears. Kurisu also takes notice of the Rika and Satoko telephone cards that came with Okabe's version of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. The group travels to the world of the Higurashi game and into a 1983 Hinamizawa, which feels very real. When Okabe says he has no idea how to get out, Kurisu starts giving him a hard time. The club is attracted by the commotion and breaks them up. Okabe explains what's going on and the group believes them. Luka points out to Kurisu privately that Satoshi's form seems to be flickering.
Kazuho and her group take the lab crew to a pay phone to meet Tamura, who explains that the world is falling apart and they need to destroy some monsters to fix it. They need an object from the same world as the "foreign object" to harm them, and Kurisu notices she still has the Rika and Satoko telephone cards. Tamura transforms them into Role Cards and disappears.
Satoko, Rika, and Satoshi appear and learn about the situation. Satoko is saddened that her brother doesn't exist in the original world line and has to say goodbye to him to save everyone, and Kurisu insists there must be another way. She backs off when Satoshi is content with saying goodbye since he only went missing in the original world and has a chance of returning.
The group goes to the Furude Shrine to defeat the monsters, and everyone is sent back to their original worlds. Kurisu wakes up back in the lab, feeling like the virtual world was really real. She discovers that the telecards are missing, and Okabe sees that the Higurashi game has ceased to exist in their world.
