Decision (決意 Ketsui) is the sixth chapter of Kokoroiyashi-hen.
Summary[]
Rena's dad spreads the news that Rena's disappeared to Keiichi's parents, Chie, and Kiichirou. Kiichirou inspects Rika's shack and finds that she and Satoko are also gone. Shion, still disguised as Mion, gets the call and feigns ignorance. Oryou appears and asks what the call from Kiichirou is all about. Shion lies that he was just asking an errand, but Oryou wonders if Mion ever spoke like that. Shion realizes she accidentally combined both her own and Mion's speaking styles, and Oryou sees through her while declaring she'll never hand over the position of Sonozaki family head. Kiichirou arrives to meet "Mion", but she reveals she's actually Shion. The mayor realizes that Mion is missing too.
Rena's father continues panicking over Rena's disappearance, with Ichirou trying to calm him down. Chie meets with everyone and says that Satoko and Rika are also missing, and mentions that they were talking about going on a Tokyo trip a week ago. Since the kids must've gone far, they decide to get the police involved and call Ooishi.
Meanwhile, Rika starts hearing a nostalgic song and remembers her mother used to sing a lullaby to her. Hanyuu is singing that same song right now. The club awakens at 5:00 A.M. the next morning, with Rika having tears in her eyes. She wipes her tears, and turns away when she sees Hanyuu gazing at her. Mion says the first train to Nagoya is at 6:30, so they need to get going.
Keiichi asks Rika if she'll call Akasaka once they reach Nagoya. Rika says he'll surely voice opposition when he learns they all left without adult supervision, but they can still impose on him. The club begins to leave the mountain, and Hanyuu says the footing is bad, so Rika should hold her hand. Rika is confused but obliges.
When they finally step outside the mountain, Rika suddenly lets go of Hanyuu's hand and trips. The others tend to her and then wonder where Hanyuu went. Rika looks back to see Hanyuu wearing her shrine maiden outfit instead of her casual clothes and asks why. She reaches out to her and trips again, with the other club members still confused since she seemed to grab at nothing. Rika asks Mion to stand behind Hanyuu, but she doesn't notice her at all. Everyone assumes Hanyuu got lost in the woods and go off to find her.
Rika asks Hanyuu why. Hanyuu says they were together for their 100 years in Hinamizawa, but now is a good time to separate from her. She says she isn't going to Tokyo and apologizes.
