Always Together... (ずっと一緒に…… Zutto Issho ni......) is the fifth chapter of Kokoroiyashi-hen.
Summary[]
The club finishes eating in the abandoned hut. Everyone then starts feeling itchy, and Rika worries that they're all beginning to suffer from Hinamizawa Syndrome. Mion realizes they're being harassed by mosquitoes, and everyone quickly puts up a mosquito net and repellent. Everyone checks their bites. Mion sees she wasn't bitten a lot and wonders if Oyashiro-sama is rewarding her behavior. Rika looks to Hanyuu in disdain and wonders if people from Hinamizawa are prone to mosquito bites.
Keiichi compliments the nostalgia and elegantness of the mosquito net as Satoko falls sleep from exhaustion. The club puts her into a sleeping bag and ask if Rika is also sleepy, but she says she's used to staying up late. Hanyuu says she's always telling Rika to sleep early so she'll grow, and comments on how much more developed Satoko is. Rika is about to punish her with some kimchi when Rena says that Hanyuu looks just like a mother. Rika puts her kimchi away and ponders that.
Everyone else prepares to go to sleep, with Rena and Mion wondering where Keiichi will sleep. They fantasize about sleeping next to him and being the first to wake him up. Rika resolves the problem by saying that the child must sleep in the middle. In the end, Rena and Mion are sleeping on one side, Satoko, Rika, and Hanyuu are in the middle, and Keiichi's at the end. Rika and Hanyuu look forward to getting on the Tokyo train tomorrow.
Rika tells Hanyuu that this was the first time she's had a fun adventure. She never knew what problems everyone had when she was trapped in June 1983, but now she can enjoy herself to the fullest. Rika then tells Hanyuu that the mosquito net made her remember a camping trip with her parents a long time ago, before she ever started looping. Rika could see Hanyuu happily watching her from outside the net, and watching her sleep inbetween her parents. Rika can never get back that time with her parents, but now she's here with all her friends. Hanyuu tells Rika to sleep and let her heart heal.
Meanwhile, Rena's dad finds the note she left and tearfully calls Keiichi's parents regarding her disappearance. Ichirou and Aiko see that Keiichi's missing too. Word soon reaches Chie, who takes the call while eating curry.
