Koji Kusanagi is a composer of royalty-free music on the website k2works. Poorly-mastered versions of his music were used in the original versions of Higurashi When They Cry[1], which were remastered and reused for the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hou PC release.[2] The remasters were later added to the English PC versions published by MangaGamer on April 1, 2019.

I distributed them with royalty-free license, so that thousands of Japanese indie games and web sites uses my songs those days. The very first Higurashi was just the one of them for me." https://twitter.com/xanagi/status/1206239648512532482
