Kisaku Kimiyoshi (公由 喜作) is Satoko Houjou's husband and Sakiko Kimiyoshi's father, and the son of Mayor Kimiyoshi. He appears in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei.
Personality[]
Kisaku is generally calm, but he dislikes Polaris and tends to get angry when talking to their representative or whenever they seem to be causing trouble.
Background[]
Kisaku is a businessman working to turn Hinamizawa into a tourist spot and World Heritage Site in 2019. As the son of the mayor, he's next to become head of the Kimiyoshi family.

At home, Kisaku and his father argue with a Polaris representative over graffiti in Hinamizawa that's supposedly being left by Polaris members and wants them all to leave the village. The representative calmly responds to Kisaku's threats and warns him that all of Polaris can join the town council and settle things in the mayoral election.(Oniokoshi Chapter 4)
During the Watanagashi Festival, Kisaku and his father drink and talk with other villagers about the situation with Polaris and the Three Families, with Kisaku regretting they ever let the cult move in. Kisaku thinks this is just like the dam war and promises that the Kimiyoshis will unite the villagers against Polaris. The mayor notes that with Keiichi's help, they could pull it off. Just then, Keitarou arrives bringing Kururu and introduces her to the adults as a Polaris member. Kisaku and his father are surprised that the boy made friends with Polaris and ruminate on it.(Oniokoshi Chapter 5)
That night, Kisaku seems to go missing while his assistant is found dead in an abandoned house, an apparent suicide. Kumagai wonders if this is really the second incident in a revived curse of Oyashiro-sama.(Oniokoshi Chapter 6)

The Three Families meet with a Polaris representative. Kisaku asks to speak to Polaris's Holy Mother, but the rep rejects him. After the meeting, Kisaku questions Mion as to why the Sonozakis aren't kicking Polaris out the village and claims she's being disloyal to Hinamizawa, and Mion responds by questioning his own social status, as he never attended the Hinamizawa Branch School.(Hoshiwatashi Chapter 3)
Kisaku makes a phone call to someone about preparations for the Watanagashi Festival that night. When he hears from Sakiko that Keitarou isn't attending the Watanagashi to go to Polaris's festival, he gets angry and thinks the cult is taking advantage of kids now. Kisaku becomes resolute in driving Polaris out of the village.(Hoshiwatashi Chapter 5)
