In Shintoism, kagura (神楽,lit. god entertainment) refers to ceremonial dances that involve purifying spirits and praying for good harvests. A certain variation of kagura referred to as miko-kagura is performed by by mikos as a part of matsuri amongst other occasions and make use of special ritual props such as bells, bamboo canes, sprigs of sakaki, or paper streamers.
The ritual dance performed by Rika Furude (who is a miko herself) at the Watanagashi Festival is likely based off of this tradition as it has many similarities.
