Jessica Ushiromiya (右代宮 朱志香 Ushiromiya Jeshika) is the daughter of Krauss Ushiromiya and Natsuhi Ushiromiya who has the potential to inherit the headship of the Ushiromiya family because of her father being the firstborn child.
Profile[]
Krauss and Natsuhi's daughter. In the absence of any irregularities, it is thought that she will eventually inherit the headship of the Ushiromiya family (or technically, her husband will). However, she seems to have no interest in all of this. She was born with weak bronchi and is sometimes assailed by sudden asthma attacks. |
Appearance[]
Jessica is a very pretty and slender fair-skinned young girl with rather curly blonde hair, usually tied up in a ponytail. Her eyes are black in the original visual novel color and have varying colors between adaptations:
- Grayish-blue eyes in the anime
- Clearer blue in the PS3 version
Most of the time, she wears a blue jacket with a white blouse and a red tie underneath, combined with a red miniskirt, knee-length stockings and black shoes. She wears the One-Winged Eagle on her sleeve. Her sleeves cover her hands a bit.
Personality[]
Jessica is hot-headed and acts like a tomboy, having a very crass manner of speaking. She has no interest in money or in the headship of the family and tends to act impulsively.
When it comes to talking about love, Jessica often gets flustered and can barely hide her feelings. Jessica is especially strong in her feelings towards Kanon and does everything she can to make him open up to her. When Jessica gets determined, there is nothing she cannot do.
Abilities[]
Jessica plays in a band and has some skill in singing and playing guitar.
Jessica hides a pair of brass knuckles in her pocket and tends to pull them out when her friends are being annoying. In magical combat, however, Jessica can punch faster than the speed of sound and enchant her knuckles with various upgrades, including armor-piercing and fire.
Due to contracting many great demons such as Ronove, Zepar, and Furfur, Jessica gained several different magical abilities such as regeneration and greater offensive power as well as the creation of high-class barriers that prevent opponents from escaping.
Background[]
Jessica was raised by Krauss and Natsuhi to become a suitable head for the family. In school, Jessica is the student council president and studies hard for tests.

Kanon[]
Jessica and Kanon are in love with each other, however Kanon sees himself as furniture and believes he is not allowed to love humans, often rejecting Jessica's advances. Despite this, Kanon carries a spare bronchodilator and will jump to Jessica's aid when she needs it. In Dawn of the Golden Witch, Kanon finally admits his feelings for Jessica, and the two begin to build their relationship.
Story[]
Legend of the Golden Witch[]
Jessica is first introduced. She greets Battler at the dock and fights off his advances when he tries to grope her, threatening to do the same to him.
In the end, Jessica becomes one of the last survivors and dies on the tenth twilight.
Missing. Even though she was given a precious invitation to the Golden Land, a single fool refused to believe in the witch, and all of the magic disappeared. She was then chewed to bits by demons and went to hell. |
Turn of the Golden Witch[]
After the first twilight, Jessica accuses the 19th guest Beatrice of being the culprit. After heading to the VIP room and finding nothing, she heads back to her own room with Kanon. There, Beatrice attacks both of them and aims to make them sacrifices for the second twilight.
Jessica soon bears witness to Kanon summoning a magic sword and fighting Goats and the Stakes. Jessica protects Kanon when Asmodeus tries to stab him and dies soon after.
Found in her own room in the mansion, with a weapon shaped like a stake rammed into her back. Finally, at the very end, she got to be with the person she loved. She must have been happy. |
When the survivors inspect Jessica's room later and find Kanon's corpse missing, they begin accusing him of murdering Jessica. Jessica and Kanon's spirits appear to deny this, but their cries go unheard.
Banquet of the Golden Witch[]
During a scuffle with Eva, Jessica becomes blinded when Eva's gun fires off. While resting in the servant's room, EVA-Beatrice murders Nanjo outside and plans to do the same to Jessica. Beatrice soon appears, summoning Kanon's ghost to guide Jessica to the parlor and hide in the curtains.
Missing. She certainly was joined with Kanon in the Golden Land. They both apologized for their own cowardice, communicating their true and honest feelings. And, they hugged each other until their final moments. Afterwards, she was chewed to pieces by demons and went to hell. It's all right. Kanon is with her. |
Alliance of the Golden Witch[]
As part of Kinzo's test, Jessica is summoned to her room and encounters Ronove. During their fight, she shows extreme prowess in hand-to-hand combat, enchanting her fists with various upgrades.
She dies when George is teleported in front of her, her head being destroyed with a kick. Ronove temporarily brings her back to life so she can give a message to Battler over the phone.
Her corpse was found in her room on the second floor of the mansion. About half of her head was destroyed. It's probably reasonable to assume that she was murdered with a powerful gun or something similar. She was smashed by her own attack due to George's counter-offensive specialized barrier. |
End of the Golden Witch[]
Jessica is killed in the first twilight.
Her corpse was found in the cousins' room on the second floor of the guesthouse. The direct cause of death is unknown, but her neck was sliced open by a sharp blade. The wound was deep enough that anyone could easily confirm her death with absolute certainty. |
Dawn of the Golden Witch[]
As part of the love trial, Jessica targets Kyrie. After Kyrie barricades herself in a guest room, Jessica uses enchantments to burn her to death through the keyhole.
Requiem of the Golden Witch[]
In the Tea Party, she was killed by Kyrie. After Kyrie missed a shot to her head, she smashed Jessica's face with the rifle.
Twilight of the Golden Witch[]
In Bernkastel's game, she survives till the end and is killed by Rudolf, Kyrie, and Battler.
Trivia[]
- In Turn of the Golden Witch, Jessica wears a cosplay of Marisa Kirisame from Touhou during her school festival performance. Ryukishi07 added it due to many fans after the release of Legend saying that Jessica looked like Marisa.[2] This same outfit appears in the anime and manga versions of that scene, and in the PC version of Golden Fantasia, Jessica wears it while performing her Meta Special.
- In the console ports of the visual novel and Golden Fantasia, the outfit is replaced by an original outfit, most likely because of copyright issues.
- In Pachi-Slot Umineko no Naku Koro ni, Jessica and her band wear Angel Mort uniforms.
- In Stage of the Golden Witch Episode 2, Jessica wears cosplays of Higurashi When They Cry club members (and Erika Furudo at the last day) at different days the stage play was performed at.
- In Golden Fantasia, Jessica's alternate color palette gives her the color palette of Natsuhi Ushiromiya.
