Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Special Edition: Hinamizawa Village Serial Mysterious Death Case Private Investigation File (Provisional) (ひぐらしのなく頃に 特別編 雛見沢村連続怪死事件 私的捜査ファイル(仮)) is a guidebook published by Ichijinsha that is a collection of TIPS. Many of these TIPS are new TIPS written with the cooperation of Ryukishi07 himself, with the intent of providing more clues for readers to solve the mystery with.[1]
The book's TIPS are stylized as physical documents such as notebook papers, brochures, and doctor's notes, meant to evoke the feeling of characters in-universe collecting them. The book also contains some Frederica Bernkastel poems, one of which was later included in Matsuribayashi.
