Higuwashi: When They Cwy[]

Rika wakes up in school in another world, having died again. Rena tags Rika and calls her Big Sis with a cutesy voice. Rika looks at her and is shocked to see that Rena is tiny. Rika looks at the schoolyard, where the other club members are playing zombie tag trying to catch Keiichi and are also tiny. Rika wonders why everyone looks like little kids when she's normal size.

Rena chases Keiichi into a hallway, and he distracts her by saying Kenta-kun is in the sky. Rena yells that he's lying and continues to give chase. Rika thinks this scene is familiar yet different. Keiichi runs into a storage room and tries to climb a ladder to an area above. Mion grabs the ladder and starts rocking it, rambling that she won't let him escape until she bites her tongue. Satoko decides to finish the job and snaps her fingers, dropping several wash basins on Keiichi and crying when they don't make the right sound.

Rika thinks that in her 100 years, she's never seen a Fragment like this; given Hanyuu's absence, something of another, higher power caused this. Keiichi hugs Rika and asks for help, and she starts acting like a zombie and starts chasing him.

Keiichi is made to wear a magical girl outfit as punishment. Rika thinks spending some time in a world like this might not be so bad.

The Adventures of Rika-chan, Transferred into Another World![]

Rika wakes up in a castle, having vague memories of leaving the ritual storehouse at night and going down the stairs. Rika is greeted by Empress Oryou, who recognizes Rika as the legendary maiden hero summoned from another world. Oryou asks her to find the sacred sword and defeat the demon lord, but Rika is confused.

Last night, Rika went to the ritual warehouse and opened the Oyashiro-sama statue only to find that the Onigari-no-ryuuou is missing. As Rika goes down the Furude Shrine steps, she decides to try for five more loops and is suddenly hit by a speeding truck; those were the last things Rika remembered. Grand Vizier Kimiyoshi asks Rika to join the allies they've gathered and set off.

Rika meets her party: Satoko the thief, Mion the sorceress, Rena the priest, and Keiichi the warrior. They go to the Adventurer's Guild, where another warrior complains to the receptionist about a request. The party promises to help Rika in any way they can. Th party completes several quests, with Rika slaying a dragon using her own sword based off the Onigari-no-ryuuou. The new members Shion the monk and Satoshi the alchemist praise her. The party then sets out for the legendary tower, where the demon lord Dakanoh resides. Rika believes she can do it with everyone. She always thought it would be nice to leave Hinamizawa, and in this world the club can still be together.

Eua watches the events play out, thinking the cat is having the time of her life. She thinks that isekais are outlandish but might catch on in the future.

Kakera Jigo[]

A teenage Satoko is willing to experience Rika's 100 years, not wanting to lose to her. Eua sees she really is interesting and sends her off.

Satoko wakes up to see Rika protecting her from an attack using Oyashiro Barrier. Satoko asks what's going on and Rika says Keiichi has symptoms: a deranged Keiichi wearing a maid outfit shambles towards them. Rika says this is Hinamizawa Syndrome, which makes people unable to control the desires deep within their heart and also gives them superpowers. Satoko thinks this whole thing is exaggerated.

Keiichi launches an energy blast and nearly hits Satoko with it. Teppei suddenly arrives, voicing his intent to protect Satoko and charging at the maid boy. However, Teppei is hit and transforms to wear a maid outfit with cat ears, just like what Keiichi desired. Teppei starts wishing for Satoko is wear the same outfit he is, and Rika explains that their thoughts are also spreading.

Rika says that everyone in the village was infected by Irie's maid obsession and is now losing control of herself, having tried to suppress it with her Oyashiro power. Rika transforms to wear a maid outfit and cat ears and pins Satoko to the ground . Satoko tries to make her come to her senses.

Satoko returns to the Sea of Fragments just as she's trying to push Rika away. Eua apologizes for messing up, claiming it was just an accident. Satoko thinks about how close she and Rika were at the last moment and blushes. Eua asks if she wants to return but Satoko denies the thought.

Dinner with Satoko[]

Satoko feeds a delicious dinner to Keiichi as Rika watches. Keiichi compliments Satoko's cooking and gives her headpats, saying to call him Nii-nii. Satoko gets flustered and says she can't do that all of a sudden. Keiichi starts feeling a tense atmosphere, reminded of earlier when he read a magazine in the junkyard as Rena came up behind him with her hatchet. Keiichi quickly opens the front door of his house and looks around outside, seeing it was just his imagination. Keiichi goes back inside as a shadowy figure watches from behind a tree.

The next day, Keiichi, Satoko and Rika are gathered at Keiichi's home again. Satoko wears an Angel Mort outfit as punishment and Keiichi teases her when a knife suddenly flies through the air between them and embeds itself into a wall. Keiichi demands to know who's there as Rika thinks that this pattern has never happened before. Irie meekly reveals himself, and Keiichi yells at him for trying to kill him. Keiichi realizes that Irie was also the presence he felt yesterday.

Irie says he wanted to try some of Satoko's homemade cooking after hearing Keiichi was doing it. Satoko says he should've said so in the first place. Irie joins the group for dinner and enjoys himself.

The Tale of Lil' Takano-san's Happiness[]

At an orphanage, some staff members drag Miyoko Tanashi back inside after her escape attempt. Miyoko swears she won't try to run away again as the staff say they'll show her the orphanage's splendor so she won't think of doing it again. The staff presents Miyoko with a lavish dinner, and she cries that she can't possibly eat this much.

Miyoko tries to escape again later and a staff member catches her, presenting her with pretty clothes. He also provides her with a maid outfit. Later, a shiny car is used to drive Miyoko to school, and she complains that her sense of the value of money is getting twisted.

Soon after, Miyoko was taken in by Dr. Takano, where their research was recognized and they lived happily ever after. After watching the Fragment, Rika wonders if this sort of karma is okay.

Lovesickness[]

Shion wakes up in bed, remembering the feeling of Satoshi's headpats. The club gathers for a series of games, with Shion making a surprise appearance. Shion says she came to see love progress between Keiichi and Mion. Mion gets flustered and Shion says she also brought tickets for Angel Mort's all-you-can-eat. Keiichi says they'll go after club, and Satoko asks Shion to join in the games.

During a ball game, Shion prepares to send the ball to Mion and notices her seemingly flirting with Keiichi. Shion wavers before yelling at them to stay focused. Mion insists they weren't flirting.

The club goes to Angel Mort. Shion sees a couple walking past and looks longingly at them. Satoko notices this and tells the club she needs to take care of something at her old house, asking Shion to come along. At the Houjou residence, Satoko pulls out a box containing many photos of Satoshi and some of his belongings. Today was his birthday. Satoko noticed Shion acting strange today and figured she was thinking about him. Satoko tried to forget by playing around today, but she couldn't do it. Shion recalls memories of gazing at the comatose Satoshi in the clinic's basement, thinking that she could touch him if she reached out but couldn't. Shion sheds tears as she thinks she loves Satoshi always, and Satoko takes her hand and says they can share the pain while waiting for him together. Satoko calls Shion Nee-nee, and they hug.

Shion goes to the clinic and looks at Satoshi, saying they'll always be waiting.

Hunting for Cute Stuff[]

Mion begins a club activity where they hunt for cute stuff, with Rena the judge. Rika tells Keiichi that Rena's been feeling down lately, so Mion arranged this club game to cheer her up. Mion says that Rena seems like she's having trouble at home and is muttering to herself a lot, so this game should make her happy and get her to open up about it. The club accepts the challenge.

Keiichi goes into town and buys a small bunny toy displayed in a window. He then takes notice of a bunny statue outside and realizes that Rena's sense of cute is weird, so maybe he should get something else. Ooishi appears, and Keiichi stats feeling his stomach while thinking he has a similar body type to Kenta-kun. Tomitake and Oryou also appear, and Keiichi asks for their help in something.

Shion meets Keiichi at Da Vinci and asks what he's doing here. Keiichi explains he's gathering stuff to make Rena happy and shows off his posse: Ooishi, Tomitake, Oryou, and Kiichirou are all wearing weird, skimpy outfits. Shion is horrified and asks Keiichi what else he bought. Keiichi worriedly shows her the bag with the bunny toy, and Shion says that the heart put into a present will make Rena happy more than anything.

The other club members present their findings to Rena who gushes over them, with Keiichi getting worried since everyone else brought weird stuff. Keiichi reveals the small bunny toy, and Rena happily accepts it. Mion asks which one she likes more, and Rena says all of them are the best. The club then asks Rena if she's feeling better and want to know what's on her mind. Rena apologizes for making them worry and says that she found some other kyute stuff but ran out of space at home to put them, so she wants to leave them with other people. Later, Mion presents Keiichi's weird posse to someone else.

Rena's Exciting Fashion Show[]

Shion is being driven somewhere when she sees Rena walking on the side of the road, her clothes dirty. Shion asks who did this to her and Rena assures her she was just treasure hunting and got carried away. Shion gets Rena to come inside her car.

At Shion's apartment, Shion pulls out several outfits and makes Rena try them on, having wanted to do this for a while. Rena tries out several stylish outfits, with Shion pleased since nobody at St. Lucia would ever agree to this. Shion sends Rena home wearing a polka-dot dress, promising to wash her regular clothes and return them later. She's sure that Keiichi will be excited to see it.

Rena walks home and runs into Keiichi, and the two make small talk before parting ways. Keiichi didn't seem to notice Rena's new outfit at all. The next day, Rena wears her regular casual clothes, and Keiichi sees she's back to normal. Keiichi says it took him a while yesterday to recognize Rena with her new outfit, and Rena gets flustered since he did notice after all. She asks if it was weird, but Keiichi says it looked stylish. Keiichi asks why she was wearing that anyway as Shion cackles elsewhere, planning more outfits for Rena to wear.

Nightfall[]

After several more deaths, Rika gets tired of suffering. She is woken up in another world in school by Hanyuu, who asks if she was having a nightmare. The club members greet her and begin club games. They begin by playing karuta, with Rena winning every round. The club plays poker next, with Satoko getting three royal straight flushes in a row.

The final game is Old Bachelor, played between Rika and Satoko. Rika is happy since she doesn't have to go through repeating deaths in club games, yet she still feels a lot of dread here. Hanyuu places a hand on Rika's shoulder to console her as Satoko asks for her to pick a card out of her hand. Rika looks at her friends and says this is her true world before choosing one of Satoko's two cards.

Rika suddenly wakes up at home in her shack. She laughs and sheds tears, saying there is no escape.
