|This article is about a character in Ciconia no Naku Koro ni.|
From AOU Sweden
A member of the 0017th Aerial Augmented Infantry Squad "Warcat" of the AOU Combined Military Central HQ
During her 3-year-old childhood health examination, she had average P3 levels, so she was removed from the Selective Training Course. However, thanks to Acquired PP Training she took later on, her levels rose dramatically.
Though she was selected as a candidate at the extremely late age of 12, the growth of her mental power didn't stop there, and she became Northern Europe's top ace thanks to effort, rather than talent.
The AOU Combined Military's Aerial Augmented Infantry Command Center granted her the position of Counselor's Special Assistant, with the right to speak at the Research Development Council for PP Training Methods.
Gunhild has blue eyes and green hair tied into long twin pigtails. She wears a blue collar, a black vest over a half-jacket and skirt, and black knee-high socks and boots. Her Gauntlet resembles medieval knight armor and has blue straps adorning it.
Gunhild tends to act sarcastic towards her friends and has a high sense of responsibility. She also swears a lot and talks very fast when excited, which gets picked up by Keropoyo's censors and is always blocked.
War Zone 8MS Observation (S)
Thanks to 8MS, she's able to observe both friends and foes across the war zone and analyze the battle situation. She can share this information with her comrades, and thanks to her parallel processing, this doesn't force her to neglect her role of offering them combat support.
Because she can do anything skillfully and flawlessly, she can switch position with anyone in battle, taking their place. However, Miyao and Jayden can't take her place.
PP Training Methods (S)
She's capable of serving as an instructor for P3 Improvement Training aimed at those with low P3 levels. Some people have actually become Aerial Augmented Infantry members thanks to her instruction, and most of the trainees adore her.
Gunhild hails from AOU Sweden, born in a factory. She wasn't born with the same innate P3 levels Miyao and Jayden had, so she worked hard to become a Gauntlet Knight.
Gunhild is introduced in the first chapter and has a short duel with Miyao and Jayden. After participating in the International Battle Standard Festival, Gunhild accepts Miyao's Public Bath Oath. When Jayden discovers Miyao's alternate personality Meow and starts straining his relationship with Miyao, Gunhild helps them reconcile and makes them box each other.
In Chapter 8 Gunhild has a short conversation with Lilja and Koshka after asking to see Chloe, oblivious to the fact that Koshka keeps glitching out and repeatedly leaving and joining the virtual room.
Gunhild continues to train and hang out with her fellow Warcats, and at one point they visit the shop Monster Party, owned by one of Gunhild's sisters. Miyao and Jayden leave soon after, and Gunhild and the owner talk about how Gunhild's been sending her and another sister Maja money. Gunhild then reveals that in fact, she feels jealously and envy towards Miyao and Jayden, as they had talent since birth while Gunhild had to study a lot to become a Gauntlet Knight, still having nightmares to this day.
In Chapter 20, Miyao receives a video from his dad Toujirou of the explosion incident at the IPMA HQ, and Jayden and Gunhild watch it. Gunhild provides some information from a LATO friend that the explosion was indeed an accident, and they're forced to accept it.
In Chapter 22, Warcat is deployed for another battle on the Glass Sea, and Gunhild helps perpetuate a farce where Jayden launches missiles while she and Miyao take control of a rival squad's Gauntlets to dodge them. In the next chapter, Gunhild and Warcat suppress the drone revolt.
In Chapter 25, during the final battle before the second global truce, Gunhild's Keropoyo suddenly starts a self-diagnostic and makes her unable to pull up her Rejection Shield. A barrage of missiles comes flying towards Gunhild, and she is presumably killed.
The Data Fragments detail more of Gunhild's relationships with her squad mates. "Gunhild and Miyao" shows that Gunhild is starting to change her opinion of Miyao and may actually love him.
"Auxiliary Major General Gustafsson" shows that Gunhild holds the rank of Auxiliary Major in the AOU military and, at an indeterminate point of the story, accesses the file of one Maja Forsberg, detailing her involvement in the Pandora Replication Experiment. After viewing this file, Gunhild wishes to avenge Maja's death and laments that the world is worthy of destruction; the Data Fragment changes perspective to Gunhild's final moments in Chapter 25.
- In terms of speech patterns, Gunhild is the most polite and mostly ends her sentences with "desu" (です), although she usually calls others by their first name, without any honorifics. However, she also swears a lot and talks really fast, as shown above.
