What Truth Did Battler Come to Realize?
Hello, I am Ryukishi07.
Umineko When They Cry has come to Episode 6 now. In this story, Battler becomes the Game Master. The Game Master is one who has understood this story in its true sense, and thus, it is proof that Battler has reached the truth at last. But you readers following along are totally baffled, aren't you? And like Ange, you want to know how this happened, don't you? It is difficult to search for the answer in a witch's game. But the hints are cast here and there throughout the stories. I hope that you will join Ange in approaching the truth now that Battler has found it and is telling his own tale.
There are new characters in this episode. The two demons are not explicitly given a gender, and it is made difficult to tell which is which. They are introduced as masters of ceremony, in a sense, and they will make the story more exciting through their presence. I can't wait to see how Momoyama-sensei draws them!
Two demons, two Beatrices, two pieces of furniture...witches and humans, illusions and falsehood. The number two is actually an extremely crucial one within the world of Umineko. Did you know that? Of course, you are free not to believe me.. After all, there is no red text or blue text in the human world...
The sixth episode has only just begun. Will you travel on a journey with me to destroy the witch's illusion? Will you be able to find the truth that Battler unearthed...?
Hinase Momoyama[edit | edit source]
It's nice to meet you! I am Hinase Momoyama. Thank you for reading Volume 1 of Umineko WHEN THEY CRY, Episode 6!
Not only do I get to draw Erika-san's return from Episode 5, but I get Fledgling Beato, Elder Beato, Au-au-san... I am so full of delight and motivation at getting to draw Episode 6 and all of its wonderfully juicy scenes and characters!!
Episode 6, Episode 6!
I went on a trap to collect references for backgrounds before the series started! It was really fun visiting such wonderful locations! I will never forget the smile my editor gave me when he said, "You've completed your collection of reference background images!"
He looked really happy about it.
(Meanwhile, I was dying in the summer heat...)
