Curse Killing Arc Vol. 2 is the second and final volume of Jiro Suzuki's manga adaptation of Tatarigoroshi and the sixth overall volume of the manga adaptation of Higurashi When They Cry. The volume was released in English by Yen Press.
Keiichi is relieved when Satoko returns to school after an unexplained three-day absence, but the little girl is not her usual cheery self. It seems her uncle has returned, and Satoko is once again at his mercy. Keiichi is furious at his friends' reluctance to step in and help her, but until there's definitive proof of her uncle's abuses, there's nothing they can do. Unwilling to accept inaction, Keiichi plots to end the abuse once and for all. On the night of the Cotton Drifting, blood will be spilled once more...
In Order to Break Through the Tragedy
The "Curse Killing Arc" is the third scenario in "Higurashi WHEN THEY CRY" and is an important story that finishes off the three "Higurashi" question arcs. Also, in the sense of seeking what's necessary to break through the tragedies of this world, it is the most important scenario.
Satoko's suffering is depicted extremely heartbreakingly in this scenario. And more frightening than anything, I think it brings with it the raw sense of reality that something similar could suddenly happen close to anyone at any time.
In a way, the "Curse Killing Arc" is the most lighthearted of the "Higurashi" arcs, and in a way, perhaps it could be said that it's the most different from the main world of "Higurashi." but the key hidden in this scenario is another very important one. It's so important that it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that it's far more important than the keys of all the three question arcs, and it's the master key of the "Higurashi" world.
Unfortunately, Keiichi wasn't able to obtain that key in this instance. He'll finally gain this key in a later scenario. I wonder if all of you were able to find it...?
