Ciconia no Naku Koro ni (キコニアのなく頃に, lit. When The Ciconia Cry), is the opening song for the Ciconia When They Cry series. The opening first plays in Phase 1 of the series.

The song was written by Ryukishi07 of 07th Expansion, the author of Ciconia no Naku Koro ni. It was composed by xaki and dai and arranged by xaki. The song was performed by Maria Sawada while the chorus was performed by Zakuro Motoki and xaki.

On November 29, 2018, a promotional video featuring the song was released, showcasing the title of the series for the first time, and teasing the protagonist Miyao, the squad names and character designs, and snippets from Okonogi's conversation in the prologue. The opening video of the series was released on July 15 of the same year. The full song was then published by Pomexgranate. as a part of SOUND of WHEN THEY CRY which was released on 12th August, 2019.
