Bakemonotachi ga Usobuku Koro ni ~ Bakemonohime no Kateikyoushi ~ (バケモノたちが嘯く頃に ~バケモノ姫の家庭教師~ When the Monsters Roar ~The Monster Princess's Tutor~), officially abbreviated as Bakeuso (バケウソ), is a novel written by Ryukishi07, illustrated by Remotaro and released on the LINE Novel service on December 16th, 2019. The service was shut down on August 31, 2020, but the work was published as a book with illustrations by Shigeo Hamashima on October 10 of the same year.

Plot Summary[]

In 1950, Raichi Shiozawa is a Japanese tutor who is summoned to Mishirushi Village, owned by the affluent Mishirushi family, to inspect the young daughter of the family Matsurika Mishirushi and get her to become a normal human again. Raichi discovers that Matsurika is a "monster" who feasts on human flesh, and begins developing a relationship with her as a fellow monster. Along the way Raichi is approached by an American Mary Galloway who is investigating the disappearances of several worker women, and Matsurika's family attempts to cure her monster habits by hiring the doctor Kyounosuke Ieiri .
