Alchemist (アルケミスト Arukemisuto) was a Japanese visual novel developer specializing in the porting of PC visual novels to console platforms. It is responsible for the various console ports of Higurashi When They Cry and Umineko When They Cry.
The company declared bankruptcy on April 1, 2016. Their assets were purchased by Entergram.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Matsuri
A port and remaster of the Higurashi When They Cry series on PlayStation 2. It features new character sprite art and the addition of CGs and voice acting. Three additional arcs are added, but Matsuribayashi is not included. The port features new choices that determine the story branching of Question Arcs (as opposed to the standalone format of the original arcs).
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kizuna
A port and remaster of the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni series on Nintendo DS in four parts. It includes tweaked versions of the sprites from Matsuri. The game also includes Matsuribayashi, as well as two arcs from Rei and five new arcs.
A port and remaster of the spin-off Higurashi fighting game on PlayStation Portable. An updated version called MEGA EDITION was also released with three new characters.
