The 1st Umineko Popularity Poll was held from September 22 to September 30, 2007, one month after the release of Legend of the Golden Witch. Voters could cast one vote per day and were also able to nominate their own characters. These are marked with an asterisk in the results table below.

Trivia[]
- At the time of the poll, Lambdadelta and Ange had not appeared as characters in the story. However, as they were mentioned by other characters, some people have placed custom votes for them.
- "Eyecatch Clock" in 36th place refers to the clock that shows up in chapter transitions. An eyecatch is a general term used to refer to images or short animations shown before and after a commercial break.
- The "President of Marusoo" in 36th place is the individual who Kinzo is said to have shown his legendary ten tons of gold to. His testimony added veracity to the legend of the gold.
- Two of the submissions make reference to a comment by Battler in the story where he references Ryukishi07's previous work, Higurashi When They Cry.
- Lenon and Manon in 36th place are servants from the Fukuin house who are mentioned off-hand in the story.
- Kawabata (36th place) is the name of the boat captain and plane captain. These are separate people with the same name.
- "Dried plum tea" in 36th place is mentioned in the story to be Bernkastel's favorite kind of tea.
- Several of the nominees refer to staff members. BT and Yatazakura are members of 07th Expansion, while dai and Akiko Shikata are music artists. Takahito Ekusa is the artist behind the portrait of Beatrice. doi is likely to be a misspelling of dai.
