Origin[]
This card depicts Rika Furude in a costume inspired by Tang Sanzang from Journey to the West. The 6-star artwork features Satoko Houjou in her Sun Wukong-inspired Seiten-Taisei appearance.
Story[]
The club practices for a Journey to the West play they'll be putting on for a theater recital in Okinomiya. They begin with a scene where Rika is introduced as the character Priest Sanzang, who causes Rena to get a nosebleed with her cute performance. Satoko as Sun Wukong is introduced next, in a scene where a rock falls on her, but she messes up her lines. Satoko goes with Mion to memorize her lines after practice as Rika worries about her. Kazuho later asks Rika about it, and Rika wonders what she can do to help Satoko memorize her lines since Sanzang and Wukong have many scenes together. Kazuho says she should know everything about Satoko, and Rika thanks her since she now knows what to do.
During another practice, Rika ad-libs some scenes with Satoko by referencing things from their daily lives, such as threatening to feed her pumpkin. Satoko plays along and is able to act much more naturally. The other club members note how the other actors in the play are able to follow along with the script changes, and Rika and Satoko are having a lot more fun. Rika as Sanzang and Satoko as Wukong set off for Tianzhu together.
Trivia[]
- The role name Xuanzang-Sanzang (玄奘三蔵) literally means "Tripiṭaka Master Xuanzang", where Xuanzang is the name of the person and Sanzang is an honorary title for a Buddhist monk who has mastered the teachings of the namesake scriptures.
