This card depicts Shion Sonozaki under the effects of Hinamizawa Syndrome. Additionally it features her in her casual outfit from the console versions of Higurashi When They Cry.
Story[]
It was a chance encounter. While visiting the library to learn more about the years she missed in Hinamizawa, Shion meets Takano, who reveals her plans to enter the Saiguden. Shion rejects her invite but Takano talks about Satoshi and how Shion might be able to find clues there. Shion is confused about Takano's knowledge about him. However, if there is even the smallest chance of finding out the truth, Shion has to check it.
Shion decides to go early to the shrine to see if Takano's talk about the padlock is true, and it is right. It seems like something flimsy that even she could open with some preparation. However, Rika appears. Shion claims she had seen someone suspicious and just went there to investigate. Rika says she will talk with Kimiyoshi to increase security there for a while. That would definitely kill any plans of entering in there. Afterwards, Rika faces Shion with a mature voice. What she is searching for is not in there, only the forgotten past of Hinamizawa. Oyashiro-sama will complain a bit if she enters, but she is only in the past. There will be no curse. Rika opens the shrine to a baffled Shion, who, after seeing the main room and torture devices, decides to leave without checking everything closely. She was satisfied and had no reason to suspect Rika.
However, why was Takano so interested in that shrine then? Maybe nothing had happened yet and Takano's interest is because she'd do something in there? Shion realizes the curse started after Takano and Tomitake arrived in Hinamizawa. And there was Takano's odd talk about Satoshi. Shion laughs madly. She finally figured out the true identity of the curse.
Akasaka visits Hinamizawa for the Watanagashi Festival and watches Rika's dance during the festival. Her movements could be compared to a martial artist. Ooishi dropped his old suspicions and hoped they could find a new conclusion with Akasaka's help. Suddenly, smoke, fire spread around. The shrine is burning. Everyone rushes there just to see Shion standing nearby, laughing madly. She did it. She eliminated the one who brought the curse! She tells Mion that she didn't need to learn anything and could just live happily with Keiichi from now on. Then Shion throws herself into the fire. Rika watched that scene emotionlessly. So, that was Shion's answer?
Shion wakes up. It is still before the Watanagashi night. Was that just a dream? A premonition? While looking at the window, she decides either way her fate is set, even if to end everything she has to become a demon.
