Story[]
Part 1[]
Walking by Hinamizawa on a Sunday, Keiichi sees Irie talking with Kazuho. Nao caught a cold. They initially thought Irie wouldn't be working but when they called the Clinic, Irie happened to be there finishing some paperwork. He had already examined Nao and it's just a mild cold. Miyuki is taking care of her, so everything is fine. The Club meeting for today was cancelled though. Kazuho apologizes for the lack of club today, although Keiichi says it's not her fault. Apparently, this cold is spreading throughout Okinomiya nowadays, so Keiichi speculates it somehow got brought in from there, but Irie explains in the case of a common cold it's too hard to track the specific source. Keiichi warns Kazuho to take care since she's living with Nao, and Kazuho ends up apologizing again, since Keiichi might catch a cold just from talking to her there, but Keiichi dismisses it. It's everywhere so whether he catches it or not is more about luck.
Keiichi wishes health to everyone, but Kazuho suddenly laments how she is only useful at times like that. She wants to do her best to live up to the trust her friends have in her, but she feels like she's always failing everyone. Keiichi notes that it feels like Kazuho doesn't believe Miyuki and Nao trust her, and yet she trust them. Kazuho says that it's because she loves them, no, the entire club.
Part 2[]
While listening Kazuho talk about trust, Keiichi starts thinking about his own lack of trust. He cherishes the club members like Kazuho does and will always trust them. However, in his case, Keiichi feels like that feeling of trust was born from a tragedy. Even now he still has those dreams where he mistrusts and hates Rena and Mion.
Watanagashi just finished, and then he hears from Ooishi about Oyashiro-sama's Curse, and Rena's dark past. In addition to that, when trying to ask Mion and Rena about it, they avoid him. In hindsight, if everyone had been direct nothing probably would have happened. Keiichi starts thinking that they hold secrets because they have malice towards him, trusting only himself. Rena tries to reach him but he rejects her and her kindness. Mion tells him he's scaring everybody, and gets ignored. He can't trust their attitude and apparent worry. He curses himself as he sees himself beating them to death, even though those two try to reach him up to the very end. So, as atonement for that, he'd never mistrust them again.
Part 3[]
Kazuho leaves. Keiichi asks Irie if he ever lost trust in people, and Irie actually reveals he did once. He lost trust in someone important to him, and when he found out the reason, it was already too late and he had lost that person. But even if you don't want to mistrust people, it can happen to anyone. He doesn't know Keiichi's situation, but he shouldn't think about it as something special that only happens to him, it's only human.
Keiichi then wonders if the same might happen to Kazuho. If it's something that can happen to anyone, then Kazuho might come to mistrust Nao and Miyuki. Irie confirms it could happen. They don't know the future and aren't gods. However, Kazuho has Irie and Keiichi. Isolation and loneliness are steps towards tragedy. So, if Kazuho starts mistrusting others, they should be able to reach her. Irie believes there are things only those who already experienced failure can do. Irie still carries regrets for his past, but he's glad he continued to live so he could help others. Keiichi agrees, saying he needs to keep on living in order to give meaning to his past mistake.
