Story[]

Part 1[]

Mion and Shion talk about a petition to revive Hinamizawa's regular bus. The Hinamizawa Village Council wants to go for intimidation tactics in the petition, which is just foolish. Due to the success in the Dam War, it seems like they really believe in those methods. In the end, Mion basically had to handle it all by herself, although the idea was Shion's. A regular bus would be important to establish Hinamizawa as a tourist spot, especially for the hot springs inn, so Mion presented data from nearby towns with similar tourist spots. Mion is actually surprised Shion would actually worry about Hinamizawa's future after everything that happened to her there. Shion confesses she still feels more resentment than gratitude towards the village, but she wants it to be there for when that boy returns. Mion knows that, but even so she considers Shion amazing, although Shion says it's all thanks to Kazuho and the others from Tokyo. Interacting with them she has learned a lot and has been often inspired by them. Mion argues that even inspiration only happens due to the qualities of the one who is being inspired - so... Sometimes she wonders how things would be now if that event had never happened. If they hadn't changed places that day.

Shion berates Mion. They had already talked about leaving that matter in the past. Still, Mion insists that seeing Shion putting all this effort for the town these days, if she was the one facing the Council directly... maybe wouldn't that be better for Hinamizawa itself? Shion argues that if she had Mion's position she wouldn't be able to act as freely as she does right now. She can only do what she does because someone responsible like Mion is there. Mion says she's sorry for saying something weird. It's already late, so Shion decides to stay and sleep in the Sonozaki Main House.

Part 2[]

Shion admits to herself she has thought about what would have happened if she had stayed as "Mion" many times. Looking back, Shion sees many oddities around that day, like fate itself conspired for it. Mion, even though she usually was pretty well behaved and polite, suddenly insisted she wanted to eat sea bream sashimi. Then when Mion screamed and they were about to mark her as the successor, Shion herself jumped in, but their combined pleas were ignored by the family. Or rather, Shion speculates some of them knew what was going on but even so choose to mark Mion as the successor, even though she was supposed to be the reject that shouldn't exist. Yes, looking back, that was the beginning of Shion's distrust on people in general. The only person she could rely on was her sister who shared her cursed fate.

Right after the meeting, Shion reminisces telling Mion about how it felt like the adults didn't care about what was their correct identity. She tells Mion the only people they can trust are each other, correcting Mion when she calls her by older sister because Mion would be the older sister now. Well, it's a faded memory, so the details might not be quite right. In fact, she only started thinking about that again after escaping from St. Lucia Academy last year.

Shion starts considering how different her life would have been as Mion. She'd have known Satoshi for years, but would they even still have the same relationship? As the Sonozaki successor, she might end up seeing the son of the Houjous as an enemy, even hating him, or bullying him alongside everyone else. Shion dismisses that idea. Even if their meeting was different, she'd still love him. Rather than that, she'd use all the power of the successor position to protect Satoshi and avoid the tragedy.

One day, in another world, "Mion" suddenly approaches Satoshi to watch his baseball game in Okinomiya. Satoshi is surprised since she had never shown interest in baseball before, but she argues that it's because she was asked to be a manager, not for disliking baseball itself. Satoshi is happy Mion doesn't hate baseball. She teases him - would he despair if she did?

Another day, Satoshi felt down from the pressure and heavy eyes falling on him from Hinamizawa's people. "Mion" grabs his arm, holding it firmly while they walk together. Satoshi is surprised and "Mion" asks if he dislikes it. He denies that, but he's worried about what other people will think. "Mion" wants other people to see that, so they should show off even more. Even if she has to use all the resources of the Sonozaki family, she will change his fate.

Part 3[]

"Shion" confronts "Mion", who sported the successor robes. "Mion" told her everything about having memories from another world where she lived as Shion. She really believed everything would work out, but in the end nothing changed. Satoshi disappeared out of nowhere. Even using the Sonozaki connections and resources, she could find no trace of him. She started suspecting her enemy was inside and targeted the leader of the Three Great Families. "Shion" and "Mion" go to the underground torture chamber where Rika, Oryou, and Kiichirou's bodies were thrown down the secret well in the prison rooms beyond it.

"Shion" says she's sorry for just staying at St.Lucia. She thought if she returned while Shion had gotten her original position back it'd just cause problems for her so she preferred to stay there. "Mion" is surprised, realizing "Shion" also remembers the previous worlds. "Shion" believed her sister would be a better fit for the Mion position. She's headstrong, decisive, and probably would be able to stop Satoshi's tragedy from happening in the first place.

"Mion" laughs, realizing "Shion" was in the exact same position as her. She confesses she secretly resented "Shion" for going on with a peaceful life away from everything in St.Lucia. "Mion" wonders if things would have turned out better if they had worked together from the beginning, although she quickly dismisses it. She'd end up seeing "Shion" as an enemy hiding Satoshi away from her too, but she still wants to find out his fate and the truth of the curse even if she goes to hell afterwards. So, she can't stop there yet. "Shion" tells her the police is surrounding them and "Mion" can't escape. "Mion" starts laughing. There is one way to escape, a method only them as twins can use.

"Mion" attacks "Shion" with her taser. "Mion" claims Mion is a coward who lacks the resolve or courage to throw everything away for her goals. She will never be stopped by someone like her. "Shion" angrily screams she won't let Shion go, she will make sure she pays her sins. Shion wakes up in the Sonozaki main house, back as Shion. Mion teases her about looking half asleep, although when Shion leaves Mion silently observes her.
